Everyone goes through change from one thing to the next, either in action or state of being. Transitions happen to us all the time. A new member is added to the family through birth or adoption. Weddings and graduations are celebrated. There are also sudden, unexpected and perhaps unwanted transitions: death of a loved one, the loss of a job, an accident, sudden evacuation due to a natural disaster, war, or divorce. No one is exempt. We all must go through them and we all must learn from them.
I am a follower of Jesus, wife, mother of 3 beautiful and very active third culture jewels. I was born in Honduras, college-educated in the US, with a love of learning about family, languages, history, religions and cultures. This is a blog about my family’s transition from Central America to the United States of America.
My goal is to write about topics related to family cross-cultural adaptation that are truthful, respectful and helpful. Through my personal experience and by reading books on focused topics, I hope to share stories and tips that may be of use to you during your own transition. It is also impossible for me to separate faith from every aspect my daily living. Therefore, you will find scripture from the Holy Bible at the end of each post. I hope these are an encouragement to you and they will draw you closer to Jesus, the only one worthy to follow, at whatever stage and in whatever season.
¡Buen Viaje! Thanks for reading!
